The Grandin Institute is a non-profit, 501(c)3 entity, We seek to promote the village concept of environmentally sustainable community building, through education and demonstration. We work with a wide range of individuals and organizations throughout our community on issues ranging from local food systems to enterprise incubation to alternative transportation development. Our year round educational program including gardening classes and communication workshops, peaks with a 2 week intensive schedule surrounding Earth Day. Cooperative Office The Grandin Institute opened a cooperative office in August 2007. We feel it is a beautiful example of our approach to sustainability on a village scale. Individuals, small businesses, and community groups can enjoy a working office environment with computer access, shared desks, and conference room, for a fraction of the cost (and waste) of a private office. Flexible use arrangements are available from $50 to $125 per month. Contact sean@grandininstitute.org for more information. Volunteer! Volunteers are needed for a wide range of projects. An important part of developing a vibrant community is the meaningful participation of a broad range of local talents and interests, working together to improve our surroundings and our social networks. Earth Day activities offer a wide range of opportunities to get involved; we also need volunteers to develop a sustainability library, implement the sharebike program, plan ongoing classes and more! We also refer volunteers to other worthy causes. Any skills, schedules or interests are welcome.
